Publishing Questions

Publishing your book will take 2-3 months from the time of agreement.  If illustrations are needed, the process will take 4-5 months.

We will help you find an illustrator that is best suited for your genre.

We will conduct a developmental edit and then help you find an editor for copy editing and proofreading who is best suited for your genre and writing style.

Yes, you will receive an author's proof for your review before approving it to be published. For eBooks, an electronic proof will be sent for approval.

Yes, the manuscript can easily be converted into eBook format(s).

Yes. If you file with the US Copyright Office, which is recommended, there is a filing fee, and you will need to send them two print copies as part of the filing process.

We distribute through the Ingram Content Network for wholesale orders. This includes bookstores, online retailers, and libraries. We also distribute through Amazon KDP for direct retail sales and Kindle eBooks. The author is expected to market their book as well through various social media outlets, email campaigns, postcards, etc.

You can order author copies directly through Amazon KDP or IngramSparks. Delivery usually takes 7-10 business days from the date of the order.

In addition to the main body text include the front matter (dedication, copyright page with disclaimers, if applicable, table of contents, and introduction) and back matter (acknowledgments, bio with photo). All images should be 300 DPI.

Yes. You will need one ISBN number for each format - hard cover, paperback, and eBook. 

Yes, if you plan to sell your book(s) to bookstores, libraries, etc.

Bowker is the US source for ISBN numbers and barcodes. You can buy them directly or get them through us. Barcodes are a fixed price, but we can offer a discount on ISBN numbers as we buy them in larger quantities.

You will need an LOC number if you plan to sell your book(s) to libraries. We can help you with the process. You will need to send them a print copy of your book as part of the process.
